Basic Computer Training

What is a Computer?

A computer is a device that takes information (Data), manipulates it, - processing, and produce output/storage. A computer takes instructions from you through the keyboard, mouse, voice, or other electronic device and executes them to give you an output or result on the monitor..

A modern computer is made up two (2) components. They are called Hardware & Software.

Hardware:

This is made up of all the physical parts of the computer; e.g. Monitor, C.P.U., Keyboard, Mouse.

Software:

Software is also known as Applications or programs—these are specially designed to do a specific task or function. The basic ones are Microsoft Word (word-processor), Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets), Access, PowerPoint Presentation, etc.

For the above programmes to run on a computer, the computer has to have foundational software e.g, Windows 98, WINDOWS XP, Windows Vista etc. don’t worry about these programs you will be acquainted with them in time.
