How to set up Page Margins in Word 2007

Page margins are the blank spaces between the edge of a page and the text. There are so many ways to adjust the margin in Microsoft word processor 2007, you can either use the mouse pointer to adjust margin visually or you can use the page set up dialogue box to set a specific measurement.

To set up page margins, use the following steps:

To set the page margins visually using the mouse pointer:

 1. Click the View tab on the ribbon
2.  Click to check the box close to the Ruler. You will notice that the ruler will appear at the left andtop sides of your documents.

3.  Position the mouse pointer on the hanging indent, it looks like this and hold down your mouse left button till it shows a double tipped arrow. Then drag to the left or right to set margin. Do the same with the ruler on the left to set the top and bottom margin.
 

To select Preset Standard Page Margin

Follow these steps:

1.  Click on Page Layout on the ribbon

2.  Click on Margin to drop down the menu, select and click the margin you want from the option provided. (Normal, Narrow, Moderate, Wide, Mirrored)

How To create Custom Margins Using Page Set Up

1.  Click the Page Layout tab

2.  Click the Margin button to drop down the menu, and then click Custom Margins at the bottom of the menu; the Page Setup box will be displayed.

3. Click the Margins tab on the top left. Type in your new or custom measurement for the Top, Bottom, Left, Right and so on...

4.  You can as well click the Page Orientation you want.

5. Click the Apply To list arrow to choose which option you want (whole document or This Point Forward)
6. You can view your changes as you do them using the page Preview
